24-Inch Over-the-Range Microwaves
Almost every over-the-range microwave is built for a 30-inch cabinet opening, which leaves apartments and galley kitchens with narrower gaps stuck. Measure the opening first
- ✓ Measure the cabinet opening width at the narrowest point — trim and face frames can steal an inch from the nominal size.
- ✓ A 24-inch OTR fits a 24–30 inch opening; a 30-inch unit will not drop into anything under 30 inches.
- ✓ Confirm your venting type — recirculating (charcoal filter), vertical duct, or rear duct — before you buy, not after.
- ✓ Use the fit checker on each model to verify the top and side ventilation clearances your space actually allows.
